Off to Sandblast & Powder Coat…

Brought the chassis (and parts) to Santa Clara Powder Coating

Disassembled the rear leaf spring…

Cleaned up the leafs and ground off the surface rust

Removed the old cups from the bottom leaf

Chassis & parts loaded.

Parts headed to sand-blast w/the chassis

Jaime got the chassis unloaded. Should be done in 7-10 days, and we’ll start re-assembling everything!

Chassis is ready to go - holes (w/threads) are tagged

Found some rodent nesting inside the frame…

And the vacuum sucked in a ‘petrified’ mouse from inside the chassis!

Covered the VIN stamping with tape, so as not to get ‘filled in’ by the upcoming powder coat process

Lots & lot & lots of degreasing & sanding…

 

Sandblasting shop requires us to knock down all the grease/grime and surface rust

The front of the chassis had been ‘painted over’ the rust. Likely with POR-15.
