Engine assembly & intake manifold work…

Engine block is boiled, honed & ready

Camshaft, crankshaft, timing chain, oil pump & correct Cylinder Heads are all installed

Found a correctly dated/correct part # intake manifold on eBay

It needed some clean-up, but it’s the correct intake manifold

L75 300hp Engine…

 

It’s time to get the motor to the engine builder…

The Distributor will either need rebuilt or replaced.

The Fuel Pump will also need rebuilt or replaced

Correct GM# 3858403 Bellhousing

None of the pulleys are correct for a ‘65 L75   : (

Correct Flywheel!  Just needs resurfaced.

Correct Exhaust Manifolds

They just need cleaned up…

The Timing Chain cover is correct

The Water Neck is incorrect (and rough)

The engine stamp on the block is very nice!

Zooming in, you can see the original broach marks

Someone painted the stamp pad at some point

There should be no Chevy Orange on the stamp pad

The old fuel line hold down bolt threads are filled with powder coat. Need to chase the threads…

Side note: Fuel line clamps should have the green finish like the one on the left. BUT, original ones had sharp ‘squared off’ edges like the original one on the right. Not a biggie for Jeff’s car…we’ll go with the new reproductions like the left.

New rubber fuel hose from steel fuel line to gas tank. Note, original fuel hoses had no labeling, so I’m removing it with Acetone.

Original brake master cylinder for a ‘65 power brake car. Needs rebuilt, but rare to see.

Original four brake calipers - very rusted; will need rebuilt & re-sleeved
